On-The-Go Play Set

Walks, shop trips and floor time are so much easier when your baby has something interesting to look at and reach for. This set gives you three hanging toys that work together, each with its own way of attaching and its own mix of sound and texture. Keep one on the pram and one on the play gym, then swap them around when interest fades. It also makes a lovely baby shower gift that actually gets used.

Hanging Animal

A soft plush animal in mixed colours and patterns with a loop for hanging. A gentle bell sounds as it moves, crinkle fabric rustles when it is touched, and textured teething pieces sit alongside different fabric textures. Selected designs also include a small fabric pocket. Available in Elephant, Puppy and Raccoon, with features and measurements varying slightly between them.

Black and White Hanging Chime

Bold black and white patterns with small colourful accents on a soft, light body that moves easily between the pram and the play gym thanks to its attachment ring. Clear rings full of colourful moving beads sit alongside dangling characters and shapes, with fabric tabs and mixed textures for extra interest. Available in two character designs, with feature placement varying slightly between styles.

Hanging Spiral Activity

A soft spiral that wraps around a compatible bar or handle and stays put, with colourful high contrast patterns and several hanging sensory pieces. Soft animal characters and mixed fabric textures add variety, and the features vary by design, including a squeaker, crinkle fabric, a gentle jingle, a textured ring or a play mirror made for children. Made mainly from polyester.

All three are designed for supervised, awake play.

None of the three toys is machine washable, and they are not cleaned the same way, so check which one you are holding before you start.

Hanging Animal: surface clean only

• Gently wipe surface marks with a soft, damp cloth
• Do not soak or immerse the toy in water
• Do not use bleach or harsh cleaning agents
• Keep it away from direct sunlight to help prevent fading and shape distortion
• Allow it to dry completely before use or storage

Black and White Hanging Chime: gentle hand washing

• Handle the toy gently, and do not hit, throw or pull it forcefully
• Do not machine wash: if needed, wash gently by hand
• Air dry naturally and do not dry it with high heat
• Wipe small surface marks with a clean paper towel
• Allow it to dry completely before use or storage

Hanging Spiral Activity: local surface cleaning only

• Do not immerse or wash the entire toy
• Wipe marked areas with a damp cloth that is not dripping
• A soft brush may be used carefully on local surface marks
• Absorb excess moisture with a clean, dry cloth
• Lay it flat to dry in a shaded, airy area, away from direct sunlight
• Make sure it is completely dry before use or storage

Storage

Store all three in a cool, dry place away from moisture, damp conditions and direct sunlight. Humid storage may lead to mildew or damage to the fabric.

An adult should attach each toy securely before play. All three are for supervised, awake play only.

Attach the hanging loop securely to a compatible play bar, then encourage your child to look at the contrasting colours and patterns, reach for and hold the attached pieces, shake the toy to hear the bell, touch the crinkle sections, feel the different soft and textured fabrics, and explore the mirror, rings or teething pieces included with the selected design.

Attach the ring securely to a compatible stroller or play gym bar. Gently move the toy to attract attention, then encourage your child to look at the contrasting patterns, watch the colourful beads move, reach for the hanging characters, feel the different fabrics and textures, and squeeze the soft bottom pieces to hear the squeaking sound.

Wrap the spiral securely around a compatible bar or handle and position the hanging pieces where they stay visible and within comfortable reach. Encourage your baby to look at the contrasting colours and patterns, reach for the hanging characters, feel the different fabrics and textures, pull or hold the textured ring, squeeze the soft noisy pieces and look into the play mirror.

Before sleep

Remove all three toys before sleep and do not leave them attached inside an unattended sleep space.

Manufacturer guidance: 0+ months on all three toys.

Mysa Baby SA recommendation: Suitable from birth, with the strongest play stage at roughly 2 to 7 months. The Hanging Animal often stays interesting a little longer, up to around 10 months, as a supervised handheld toy.

The manufacturer’s 0+ guidance means the set can be introduced from birth. It does not mean a newborn will use every feature straight away.

Birth to 3 months: look and listen

Hang each toy securely where baby can see it but not directly over the face, or hold it and move it gently. At this stage play is mainly about looking at the patterns and listening to the soft bell and crinkle sounds. By around two months, many babies can look at a toy for several seconds. Keep the toys away from baby’s face and do not expect them to hold anything yet.

3 to 6 months: bat and begin to hold

Position the hanging pieces close enough to touch but not close enough to fall onto baby. Baby may begin batting at the toys, holding the rings and bringing safe parts towards their mouth. At around four months, many babies can hold a toy placed in their hand and swing an arm towards toys.

6 to 9 months: grasp, shake and explore

This is likely to be the strongest play stage. Baby can hold the animal, shake the bell, squeeze the crinkle sections, move the bead rings and explore the spiral’s textures and mirror. By around six months, many babies reach for toys they want and explore objects with their mouths, and by nine months many move objects between their hands.

From about 9 to 10 months

The toys may still be enjoyed as supervised handheld activity toys. Older babies pull more strongly, so check every hanging loop, ring and attached piece carefully. Stop hanging a toy once baby can pull it down, become tangled in it or place the spiral around their body.

Development differs from baby to baby, so treat this as a practical guide rather than a strict cutoff.

Safety information

For supervised, awake play only. Check all seams, rings, teethers, ribbons, bead rings, mirrors and hanging parts before every use. Stop using a toy if any part becomes loose, torn or damaged.

• Attach each toy only to a secure and suitable point.
• Keep the toys away from baby’s face and neck.
• Do not attach them to car seat harness straps.
• Only use them with a car seat when the car seat manufacturer allows the attachment. Unapproved accessories are not recommended.
• Do not leave a toy inside a cot, bassinet or other sleep space. Safe sleep guidance says toys and other soft objects should be removed before every sleep.
• Keep all packaging materials away from children because they may present a suffocation risk.
