In the early months your baby cannot hold a toy yet, and it is easy to wonder how you are meant to play with them at all. These wrist rattles and foot finder socks are the answer. There is nothing to grab. Your baby just moves, and the rattle answers.

That is what makes them work so well. Your baby waves an arm, hears a sound and slowly connects the two. The wrist rattles fasten securely around the wrists, while the socks keep playful animal faces close to kicking feet, right where your baby will find them. Watching them realise they made that sound is one of those tiny moments you will remember.

The set of four includes two wrist rattles and two foot finder socks, made mainly from polyester fibre in soft fabric with bright colours and bold patterns. Because they are worn rather than held, nothing gets dropped on the floor or rolls out of reach.

Surface cleaning

• Wipe with a soft, damp cloth using clean water or a mild neutral detergent

1. Check the set

Inspect every wrist rattle and sock before play.

2. Put them on comfortably

Fasten the wrist rattles securely without making them tight, and place the socks fully over your baby's feet.

3. Let movement create the sound

Place your baby on a clean play mat during awake time and let them kick, wave, reach and notice the sounds they are making.

4. Join the moment

Smile, talk and name what your baby is doing. Pause and respond to their sounds and movements. That little conversation between you is just as valuable as the toy.

5. Remove after play

Take the rattles and socks off when the play session ends.

Birth to 2 months: Listen together

Fit one wrist rattle at a time for short, supervised periods and move your baby's arm gently so they can hear the sound while you talk to them.

2 to 4 months: Discovering hands

This is the strongest stage for the wrist rattles. Your baby waves an arm, hears the rattle and begins to notice that they caused it.

4 to 6 months: Finding feet

Many babies start reaching for their own feet around this stage, and the animal faces on the socks give them something to aim for.

From 6 months

Your baby may lose interest as they begin grasping and mouthing toys instead. Stop using the socks once your baby can pull them off and put them in their mouth.

Safety information

Adult supervision is required throughout play, and the set is for awake play only.

Before every use, check for torn or damaged fabric, loose stitching, loose or missing parts, exposed filling, a loose internal rattle, damaged wrist fastenings, and any stretching that affects the fit. Stop using the product immediately if it is damaged or if any part becomes loose.

Use the product only on the wrists and feet as intended and within the age range shown on the manufacturer's packaging. Make sure the wrist rattles and socks fit comfortably and are not tight, remove them if they leave marks or seem uncomfortable, keep the set away from fire and high heat, and never place it loose in a cot, bassinet or other sleep space.
