Care instructions

Cleaning

Wipe surface stains gently with a clean, dry cloth.

Do not strike, throw, rub or handle the product forcefully, as this may damage the toy or its attachments.

Storage

Store the toy properly in a cool, dry place when it is not being used.

How to play

Look and listen

Hold the toy about 20–30 cm from baby’s face. Move it slowly from side to side so baby can follow the bright colours, mirror and animal face. Gently shake the bead rattle to make a soft sound.

Reach and bat

Attach the top ring securely to a suitable stroller or play-gym bar. Place the hanging pieces close enough for baby to touch, but keep them away from the face and neck. Let baby bat at the rings and watch them move.

Grasp and shake

Place the toy in baby’s hands during supervised floor play. Help baby hold the rings, shake the rattle and feel the soft fabric.

Mirror play

Show baby their reflection in the mirror. Point to their eyes, nose and smile while naming each part.

Texture play

Guide baby’s hands over the plush fabric, smooth rings and textured shapes. Use simple words such as “soft,” “bumpy” and “smooth.”

Teething play

Let baby explore the textured teething pieces with their mouth while you watch closely. Clean the teethers according to the care instructions before and after use.

Tummy-time play

Place the toy in front of baby during tummy time. Shake it gently or move the mirror to encourage baby to lift their head, look and reach.

Use only during supervised, awake play. Attach it securely and check all rings, seams, teethers and hanging parts before every use. Remove it from the cot or sleep space before every sleep.

Safety & Age

Clear age guide

Manufacturer guidance: 0+ months

Mysa Baby SA recommendation: Suitable from birth for adult-led play and best suited from about 3–10 months. It may remain useful after 10 months as a supervised hand-held toy.

The 0+ guidance means the toy may be introduced from birth. It does not mean a newborn will use every feature straight away.

Birth to 3 months — Look and listen

An adult can hold the toy or hang it securely where baby can see it but cannot pull it onto their face. Gently move the mirror or rattle so baby can watch and listen.

By around two months, many babies can look at a toy for several seconds.

3 to 6 months — Bat, reach and begin to hold

Place the hanging pieces close enough for baby to touch during supervised, awake play. Baby may begin batting at the toy, holding a ring and looking at the mirror.

By around four months, many babies can hold a toy placed in their hand and swing an arm towards toys.

6 to 10 months — Grasp, shake and mouth

This is likely to be the strongest play stage. Baby can hold the rings, shake the bead rattle, explore the mirror and mouth the textured pieces.

By around six months, many babies reach for toys they want and explore safe objects with their mouths.

From about 10 months

Baby may still enjoy it as a hand-held sensory toy. Older babies can pull more strongly, so check the hanging ring and every attached part carefully. Stop hanging it once baby can pull it down or wrap any part around their body.

This age range is a practical recommendation based on the toy’s features. It is not a replacement for the manufacturer’s official 0+ guidance, and babies develop at different speeds.

Important safety wording

For supervised, awake play only. Check the hanging ring, seams, mirror, rattle, teethers and attached pieces before every use. Stop using the toy if any part becomes loose, cracked, torn or damaged.

Also include these points:

  • Attach the toy only to a secure and suitable stroller or play-gym point.
  • Keep it away from baby’s face and neck.
  • Do not attach it to car-seat harness straps or anywhere that affects the harness.
  • Clean the teething pieces according to the manufacturer’s instructions before use.
  • Remove the toy from a cot, bassinet or other sleep space before every sleep. Safe-sleep guidance says toys and soft objects should not be placed in a baby’s sleep area
